Bio

Symantha Jones is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and professor holding an MFA in Visual Art from Florida Atlantic University. Her current research and creative output focuses on the narrative, mundane elements of home that communicate the visceral nature of memory. Using primarily acrylic mediums she encases and transforms accumulated materials, incorporating the unusual properties of the cast aside. Through this process the broken, marked, and imperfect pieces of someone else’s history are added into Jones’ own collection of imperfect homes, strange and sweet, but haunted.
